ΜΕ ΜΗΝΥΜΑ - What people usually don't understand about Greece

What people usually don't understand about Greece is that Greeks who still live in high living standards are not the majority of population, but the exemptions.

Today, more than 1 in three Greeks lives beyond poverty line, a big part of population (millions of people) does not have access in social security and even if they have, problems in public health system are so big, that many times they have to wait long till they are hospitalised or have a surgery.

A big part of population is unable to pay the taxes since there are so many people - especially self-employed- that are asked to pay more than they earn. Business close one after other or they don't pay salaries because of lack of capital.

Big companies dominate the market and small stores close. Unemployment climbed to 27% (56% for young people). There are so many issues and numbers that justify the fact that this country is getting through a humanitarian crisis.

So, even if you see a Greek still having his own house or a car, this does not mean he has the means to live decently. Stagnation in market does not even allow properties to be sold. No one buys, unless you are willing to sell your property in ridiculously low prices and even this is doubtful.

Many people here are in dead end and what is worse, is that we don't even see any kind of silver lining, despite what government and media try to convince us, in order to avoid social unrest.
